Brief an die Gastfamilie

Dear host family,

"A person is a person, no matter how small" Dr. Seuss

My name is Luiza and I am a 20 year old college student majoring in English. I live in Florianopolis, a state capital island with over 50 beaches. As you can imagine, it attracts people from several location which makes my city a very diverse cultural place. I love being around people and getting to know different cultures.
My biggest passion in life is working with children. I've been a bilingual teacher for over an year now and I love my job, despite all the challanges included in it. I take care of a large group of children by my own so I can say I am pretty dynamic and can handle many tasks at once. Last year I had a group of 1 and a half to 3 years old students, they were so adorable and I fell in love with all of them. I can't believe how toddlers can be so cute and lovely. This year I'm working with kindergarten (5 years old) and I'm getting to teach them how to write and read in English, they are really excited about speaking another language. As I work in a daycare/preschool establishment I get to deal with children of all ages because the school is like a big house. So I have some experience with babies under 12 months. In my younger group I was responsible for potty training, feeding, putting down to naps, developping language and explore children's magical world as a way to stimulate their growth. Now that I work with older children, they are more independent but there is always some social issued or fights that teacher has to help them to solve. When doing my work, I believe in respecting children for whom they are and the fact that I help them to explore the world as they see for the first time so many things that we take for granted fills my heart with joy.
My boyfriend has three children who spend the summer over at our home, I help him to take care of them because he's a busy philosopher. At home I'm responsible for making sure everyone is fed on the right time, have clean laundry, are not getting too much time in front of the TV/Computer and so on.
I also teach English to adults (although as you can notice my language skills need to improve more). Being abroad will help me to get more fluent. In the future I want to be a college professor and researcher.
Another thing is that I love dr. Seuss, so expect me to be reading his stories everyday to your children. I enjoy celebrating holydays like Easter's hide and seeking eggs, trick or treats in halloween, planting a tree in Earth day, bonfiring in a camp on 4th of july.
I'm a very active person and so I hope your family is. I feel my best when I accomplish things.
I'd love to attend church with you if you are religious, but if you are not it is not a problem. Normally I don't attend any churches but I am a christian who believes in the bible and in respect of other's religious and beliefs. Along with that, I've been a vegetarian for 3 years and I love to cook. I do cook meat for my boyfriend's children when they are over so I am not neurotic about my vegetarianism.
I choosed to be an aupair because I want to bond with your children and family while I do the best work I can. I am respectful and harworking. I'm looking forward to spend a great year with your family.
