Brief an die Gastfamilie

Hi there! I'm Isabela, 18, and I have been around children most of my life. I was born in a big family, with three older siblings looking after me! Being mostly an indoors type of person, my main passion is reading, which of course inspired me to visit a lot of places around the world.

I was halfway through Med-school preparation courses when I realised it wasn't the career I wanted. With the help of my extremely supportive parents, I came to the conclusion I needed to be around the things I liked before figuring out what to do with my future. It just so happens two of my biggest interests are languages and children!

My English education is nearly complete. I am taking my Cambridge Proficiency in English test by the end of this (2012) year, and have just started learning German. I can also speak Spanish fairly well (besides my first language, of course, which is Portuguese).

It's not very customary to have teenagers babysit kids in my country. So, my experience comes from having two younger siblings, a 6-year-old boy and a nearly 5-month-old baby girl, whom I take care of very often. They're my whole world :) Looking after them is one of my great pleasures!

I really hope to have a nice learning experience through being an Au Pair. Not just continuing my German studies, but learning how to cope with different situations and people! And hopefully have a broader view of the world and what I'd like to do in it.
