Introduction Letter
Hi,
We're looking for our next au pair to become part of our family and help with Matilda aged 11, Lulu 8 and Freddy 5 on our dairy-farm home in the Normandy countryside.
We have an au pair at the moment, so we're looking for someone who can start in August and who is happy to be with us for at least 6 months as Matilda is starting a new school in September, and this will mean a 30 minute drive to Caen at 7.15am.
If you have some experience with horses, that would be great, as both girls have competition ponies, so part of the job will be to help with the animals. You don't need to be a top rider, just happy to lead, feed and care for them and we will teach you the rest! We are also hoping that our au pair can assist sometimes with our B&B - greeting guests, helping with breakfast etc.
Life is busy and varied here, so you'll ideally be someone who can cope with a busy, noisy household with lots of different things going on.
In return, we'll take care of you as one of the family. You'll have a pretty bedroom with a private bathroom, WiFi access and use of a car. We speak English at home most of the time, but a basic knowledge of French would be useful.
You will have a nice bedroom in our family house with a 4-posted bed and a private shower room. We have WIFI internet access, bikes, horses and you will have shared use of a basic car. We are looking for someone who can stay from mid-July to at least April 2014, but if you would like to stay for longer, that would be fine.
Please contact us if you think you could be our next au pair. Thank you!
Job Description
We are looking for an organised, kind and happy 'big sister' to join our family and help us with the children, around the house/B&B and with our animals.
The job will include: helping with the school run (which means leaving home at 7.15am to drive to Caen with Matilda), helping to keep the children's clothes in order (washing, ironing and putting away), organised bedrooms/play areas, some help preparing simple B&B breakfasts from time to time and help with looking after the ponies.
We are hard working, honest and reliable and would like to find an au pair with the same values. We will welcome you into our family, take care of you and give you experience of French farm life. We can provide references from our previous au pairs if you would like.
We've got an au pair now until mid July 2013, but are looking for someone to join us in June, so that there is a handover period before she leaves. Google french farmhouse in Barbery, France and you'll see La Vieille Abbaye, our B&B and photographs of our world!
