Dear Host Family

My name is Mariane and I am 20 years old. Nowadays I am living in Maringá where I am attending college (Trilingual Executive Secretary) and working for a hearing center called PHONAK. My position is Commercial Assistant. I like my job, mainly when I see the people with hearing loss back to listen, it’s very exciting, for example, one day the mother of our patient Carolina told us that Carolina cried when she heard the sound of the rain. With this I can appreciate things that seem to be minor ones and Thank God for giving me the ability of hearing, speaking and sight.
I have always had two dreams, the first one was to start an undergraduate program at college (in Brazil the best colleges are state ones and it’s necessary to go through a difficult test), I studied very hard and entered the program I wish. In Brazil the course I attend is held in two cities, so I had to live in another city called Maringá, it’s 12 hours from the city that I lived and that my family nowadays lives. My parents are unemployed at the time so I had to get a job to pay my expenses here, I pay all my bills, not having much money left at the end of the month but I am very happy because one of my dreams is ing true.
My second dream was always to go for an exchange program, I save every cent that I make to pay for the exchange, I stopped having ice cream to gather enough money and now I am very happy because finally I am very close to acplishing this dream.
For me, the exchange program will be very good, for both professional and personal growth, I will acplish my dream. This exchange program is fantastic because I am going to work with children that I love and I will learn another culture and language.
About my family; I have a brother who is 10 years old and his name is Matheus and a sister, her name is Paula and she is 17. My mother is called Nilza and my father, Paulo. I love God because He always helps us; He fulfills all our needs.
About me: I am responsible, hardworking, persistent, sweet, friendly and I give my best in everything I do.
My friends would describe me as friendly, dedicated, talkative and resposable.
