Letter To Family

Dear Host Family,
my name is Marketa but my friends call me just Marky. I am 19 years old and I live in town named Pilsen (It is situated in West Bohemia, in Czech Republic). I study tourism & travelling and after graduation I would like to left this town and go somewhere else where I could learn something new.

I c ome from family of 3: Me, my younger sister Lucie (14) and my mom. My parents are divorced and my dad lives in Pilsen too but in his own flat with his girlfriend and 2 beautiful girls (my step-sisters).

When it comes to children care, I have looked after children since I was 14 years old. So of course I have experience. I have 2 cousins, Karolinka (4) and Matej (7), I cared about them a lot but then their parents, my aunt with uncle, moved to another town so I can barely see them. Then there are my dad’s children, my step – sisters. Julie (3) and Sandra (5), they are two beautiful girls. I spend a lot of time with them when theirs mother is busy. We play together with barbies, draw pictures or I read them books. That makes me really happy when I see them laughing and have a fun with me.
Then I have next 3 cousins but they are older than me. Jakub (19), Pavel (19) and Lukas (22).

Of course, light housework (vacuuming, mopping, ironing, dusting) aren't for me problem. I sometimes help my grandmother with a garden, so maybe I could even handle gardening. I also occasionally cook and bake (I bake unbelievably delicious chocolate muffins!!)

I am more sporty type of girl so when I have some free time I go with my friends swimming, roller skating or ice skating to our ice rink. I also like volleyball, basketball or tennis. I like singing (even I can’t actually sing!) and I enjoy listening to music. I could listen to it all the time.

My nature language is of course Czech. Then I study German (it will be 9 years in September) and 5 years ago I started studing English. I am looking for some really patient family because my English is not perfect. I am on comunicative level but with mistakes. But I study every day and I am really trying to get my English better and better.
I would like to be an Au Pair because I love working with children and I also want to improve my English.

I can’t forget to write about my driving license. Last November (2011) I successfully passed driving exam and I’ve got some experience. My mom says that I am pretty good driver so there is no problem to take your kids to school by car.

I would also prefer to have working hours that would allowed me to attend English classes.
