Dear Family,

I am a 23 year old female from the states with hopes to travel abroad and assist your family!

I am an enthusiastic and responsible young person who loves children! Because I am adventurous, curious, and open-minded, I can have fun almost anywhere. I love to laugh!

I grew up in Western Massachusetts and went to a performing arts high school in the Valley before moving briefly to Boston to study at Berklee College of Music. I am currently a student at Holyoke Community College studying liberal arts. At the moment I am living in Orlando for an internship with Walt Disney World. I work in their resorts with child care and activities. It's super fun and I love the chance to play with children and families of all ages and demographics on a day to day basis :)

I have never traveled abroad but have many friends across the world who inspire me to see new places and meet new people. I love learning about new cultures and trying new things.

Experience

I started working with children in 2006 when I was a live in nanny for three different families all employed by the same summer camp. I had 5-7 children (ages 10 months, 5, 7 & 9) on a daily basis for the entire summer. I learned a lot from these children and still keep in touch with them and their families.

In the summer of 2007 I joined Camp Hawkeye (previously Camp Pathfinder) in New Hampshire. This camp was wonderful because it brought together children ages 8-16 from all around the world to live, play, and learn together. I was a counselor for children from all over the States, The United Kingdom, Whales, Brazil, Spain, Russia, Ireland, Canada, Thailand, Cambodia, Germany, New Zealand and Scotland. The following summer in 2008 I became the camps boating director and taught the importance of water safety and teamwork. This is when I became passionate about traveling abroad. I wanted to see the places that these wonderful children came from. I am still strongly in touch with Camp Hawkeye and many of it's campers.

In 2010 I worked for The Double H Ranch in New York. The Double H Ranch is a year round camp which caters to children ages 5-17 with life-threatening illnesses, both with and without special needs. Double H opened my eyes to how important life is and to never take for granted a moment where you can laugh or smile. Children's disabilities ranged and therefore needs were met on an individual basis and safety was a very important factor. I loved the Double H Ranch and keep in touch with both campers and their families through the organization.

In 2010 I started an internship with the Walt Disney World Company in Orlando, Florida. I work with their resorts to provide children's activities and child care for vacationing families. I love my job! I have fun everyday! Our families and their children are from all over the world. In addition to private child care, we provide daily activities and events including games and study periods for children staying at the resort. Although typically families are only with us for a week or two I have built several lasting relationships with families who continue to visit.
