Letter To Family

Dear family,
My name is Jennie Stockstill and I am a recent graduate of the University of Georgia where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies. I currently live in the United States and just moved from Athens, Georgia, where I completed college, back home to Thomasville, Georgia, a small town in South Georgia.
I come from a large family of 10: My parents, 5 brothers, and 2 sisters. Growing up, my parents were Foster Parents and eventually adopted my 5 youngest siblings. I love having a big family.
In about a year I plan to pursue a masters degree in Social Work, but in between I would like to take some time out of academic to have a different life experience. I think spending time abroad would be particularly interesting. Currently I spend most of my time babysitting, which I love. In my free time I like to read, watch movies, listen to music, and spend time with my friends. I love to travel and meet new people.
I have a lot of child care experience both in formal and informal contexts. I first began babysitting when I was 11. In high school I worked in the nursery at the YMCA caring for children. When I came to college, I became a Nanny for a family in Athens and babysat for 3 other families in the area as well. I also was an After School Counselor at a local Elementary School working with kids in kindergarten-5th grade. Two of the families I work for had babies while I was working for them, so I have experience with newborns as well as with kids up to 13 years old.
As far as preferences are concerned, I am looking for a live-in arrangement with a host family, that would be happy to have me stay with and work for them for a few months to a year. I would also prefer looking after children aged between 6 months to 10 years, but I am open to any age.
I would be happy to have the opportunity to speak with you to answer whatever questions you may have about me or my childcare experiences, and learn more about your family, your interests and to know more about what you expect from the au pair arrangement.
