Letter To Family

Dear Families,

My name is Nikki, I am 22 years old and have a BA in Child Development. I live in the Santa Cruz Mountains and have no problem commuting, taking the kids on outings to the park and other places, if this would be something you would be alright with. I know some American Sign Language and am willing to teach your children what I know on a daily basis.

While I have worked with all ages, from infants to teenagers, I have realized that my preferred age and working situation is young toddlers, toddlers, and preschoolers. It is during this time that the children are learning, and making connections and it is the job of the family and caregivers to ensure that the children are being challenged at an age appropriate level and encouraged to be curious. It is through curiosity that a child shows that he/she is being cared for. Curiosity comes after a child knows that all of their needs will be met and it is at this point that the fun really begins. The children will soak up all that is available to them and continue to request more. I am a huge fan of providing that 'more' in all areas of the child's life. As you can tell I am extremely passionate towards the care of children. In regards to working situation, I prefer to work with a family for a few years continuously as it makes the connection with the children extremely strong and builds a healthy relationship with the family as a whole.

I have had recent experience working both as a nanny and as a preschool/toddler teacher, and can provide excellent references for both.
