Letter To Family

I’m an American high school/college student looking forward to coming to Australia to be an Au Pair. I will be arriving in Australia on October 26th. When I return to the States after being an Au Pair, I plan to pursue a degree in Child Development/Social Work. Education is one of my top priorities but I believe that knowledge is also gained outside of the classroom. Traveling and learning about different cultures is something I am passionate about. I would like to incorporate this passion and my love for children in being an Au Pair. I am looking for a family that will accept me as a part of their own.
I have had experience caring for children of friends and family since I was 13. I’ve cared for children in the age range of 6mo-13yr. I currently volunteer for an organization called Big Brothers Big Sisters. It is a one to one mentorship program helping children reach their potential. I absolutely love the program and it is very rewarding.
I consider myself positive and open-minded. I like to surround myself with positive people. I enjoy the simple things- going to the beach, a good cup of coffee. I love learning, laughing, and music (although I’m an awful singer). I promote individuality and creativity and this is why I’m drawn to work with children.
I’m excited to experience being an Au Pair in another country but most of all I look forward to getting to know you and being a part of your family.
