My name is Anna Martin, I am 21 years old and from a small town called Dresden in Ontario, Canada. I am from a family of four, I have one younger sister named Mallory and we are five years apart. We grew up with parents named Kerry and Dennis who are very proud and dedicated parents. I love children, I have had a lot of experience with childcare and have the energy to take on such tasks. I am independent in the sense that I love trying new things and traveling overseas would excite me. I would love to participate in the program and would be fully devoted and excited to take on the position of an Au pair.

Expériences en garde d'enfant

I have never been an Au pair before. However I have grown up with a lot of experience in childcare. I participated in a babysitters course earning my babysitters certificate at a young age. Being five years older than my younger sister I took on some responsibility through taking care of her throughout our younger days. Being from such a small town it was quite regular to be babysitting on weekends for neighbors and family friends around town. I also helped out at home daycare, which I had attended, a few summers ago. I would walk the children to school, do arts and crafts, plan activities, help with meals and clean. I have also spend a summer as a cast member at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. I travelled to Orlando in the summer of 2010 for a three month period and worked right in the park. I had many encounters with children and developed many new skills over the work period. Most recently I have spent the summer running the YMCA children's daycamp and where I spend 9 hour days for four months taking care of, entertaining and socializing with children aged 3-8. I plan events, run games, create fun crafts and assist with trip days. It has been a great experience and building relationships with each child is very important to me. I have extended my position at the YMCA after this past summer in the youth and preschool department where I care for children, assist in teaching the babysitters course, and also work in the Jr. Chef nights were we bake simple healthy snacks with the kids.
