Dear Host Family,
I, Oleksandra Drobotska, would like to tell you some words about myself, about my interests and my desires.
I am 21. I was born in Ternopil and spend my childhood here. I have a younger brother Tolik (3 years younger). He is my right hand in all common businesses. I love him very much! From his born I started my babysitting “career”. My mother taught me how to take care of small kid. We bathed him, fed him, played with him and had the walk in the park together. He brought up under my upbringing as kind, clever, and lovely boy. I am proud of him.
When I was 14, I started playing the guitar. I also visited dance studio. I am painting pretty good and singing too. But most of all I am interesting in the theater. I took part in different performances. Very often I played in foreign languages – in German and English.
From my childhood I understood, that I want connect my future profession with children – I entered the Ternopil National Pedagogical University (Foreign Languages Department). Now I am a student of the 4th year of study. My main subjects of study are English, German and Pedagogic. At the end of next semester I will get my Bachelor degree. After coming back from the USA I am going to continue my studying to get my Master degree. So, in the future I will become a teacher of English and German languages. But already in this year I began teaching – I have pedagogical practice from beginning of November 2011 to the end of December 2011. I am very happy that I am working with children at last. On my opinion, teacher’s mission is very important: step by step I have to lead young children to knowledge. But I don’t only want to be a teacher of a certain subject but also adviser for my pupils, I want to open them this beautiful world and help to find themselves in it, realize the sense of life.

Expériences en garde d'enfant

I am lucky to have an opportunity to try myself in babysitting too. I have an experience to take care of children from 1 till 9 years old (except my brother). There were so beautiful kids – Roman (at first from 1 year to 1 year and 6 month in 2006-2007 and than from 3 to 4 years in 2009- 2010) and Maria (from 7 to 8 years in 2008-2009). I worked with each kid whole week from 3p.m. to 9p.m. and on weekend from 1p.m. to 9 p.m. (sometimes I had free days for the weekends, or on holidays). I had a lot of duties such as: take care of kid, going for a walk, doing homework, playing different games, preparing food for kid etc. I really enjoy working with children, moreover I am experienced working with them.
I was also a participant of Work and Travel Program during summers, two last years running (2010-2011). First time I was in Chicago, Illinois for three month and worked as deli clerk in a shop “Shop and save”. Second time I worked in Sandpoint, Idaho as housekeeper in hotel “Best Western”. I like my interesting jobs and the cities where I lived greatly. I made new acquaintances, got to know many great things about American people and their culture. In 2009 I passed exam for driver’s license in Ukraine. On summers 2010-2011 (when I worked in the USA) I lived very far from my workplace. That’s way I passed exam for driver’s license in the USA in 2010 too. Every day I went to my work by car. In Ukraine I drive a lot too.
