Dear family,
I love working with children, and would very much like the opportunity to live in another country for a time. Children are such a joy, and I love teaching them and watching them grow. I find that I learn as much from them as they learn from me. I am very kind and gentle, and was raised by loving parents, but they taught me very well and were firm in their discipline, and I am quite the same. I rarely get upset, and I am very patient. I like following the rules, and am very firm in enforcing them, which helps form structure and boundaries. However, I also encourage curiosity, imagination, and critical thinking, all of which help them try new things, learn about life and about themselves, and form their own personality. I am very much looking forward to talking with you and possibly being a part of your family!

Experiência com crianças

I started babysitting when I was 13, then started helping out in the nursery at my church when I was 14. In high school I regularly watched 2 boys, who were 5 and 7, for about two years. For the past two years I worked as a swim instructor and lifeguard at a YMCA. As a lifeguard I was a secondary rescuer in a little girl with a head injury, and the primary rescuer of a little boy who split open his chin; both went to the hospital and fully recovered; these two situations gave me experience and I learned to be calm and controlled in stressful emergency situations. As a swim instructor I taught many classes of 5 to 9 children at once, ages 3 to 13. During private swim lessons, I also worked with a few handicapped or disabled children, including down syndrome, autism, seizure disorders, and muscular dystrophy. During my time at the Y I was a part-time nanny for one boy, age 3, now 5. Currently I am a successfully employed aupair in New York, about an hour north of the city, for two boys ages 9 and 5. I have been here for 2 and a half months.
