Dear host family, I am Silvia from Italy. I was born in a small town in Sicily in 1997. I decided to start university in Turin, where I am learning various languages such as Spanish and English. Furthermore, I've chosen to become "au pair" because it’s a different way to get involved visiting new parts of the world. Besides, I am a joyful and dynamic girl. Despite having a small family, made up only of my parents Barbara and Raimondo. I love being in the company of children, especially of my little London-born Cecilia.

My passions are board and role games, video games and music. During my spare time, I love reading books and watching TV series.
Over the past years, I have gained many experiences in the world of volunteering. Among the many, those that have most influenced my personality have been within the Community "Papa Giovanni XXIII", where I developed relational and organizational skills (helping children of different ages, between 6 and 18 years, and organizing disable kids’ parties), and directly assisting homeless people. I've just did au pair during 2 years in Spain, and it was amazing!
I believe that an experience as an au pair could complete my formation in social life and give me another opportunity to grow and mature as a person.

The main motivations that pushed me to start as an au pair were the enormous possibilities to increase my knowledge, not only linguistic but also social. Living in a different context makes people grow spiritually and personally, and it helps to better understand how you could live in a country different from yours. Therefore, I think that this experience would allow creating links in all the different parts of the world, and it could be a great opportunity for me.
