At the moment, as Rita's husband I do all the job. I would expect we would work out a pattern that works best for all of us. Currently I help Rita after her shower to dress and prepare all meals. Rita can walk, talk, eat and handles the rest room on her own without issue. I think I would continue to handle her morning routine as I need someone with her during the day to oversee her activity and well being. There are simple medications. (pills) she needs mid day that I would set up. We have a robot that does most vacuuming and currently I do the rest of the cleaning. If we could split it up that would be helpful. I also am fine doing the laundry although you could help by hanging clothes to dry. Grocery shopping is something you could do with Rita and it affords her more activity. Meal preparation is something we could share as well although I have no problem and am learning to enjoy cooking. Rita takes a number of medications to control the symptoms of the Huntington's Disease. It's not perfect and sometimes she can be less than cooperative so we try to keep all the choices as good ones and try to always be looking forward to some activity during the day or week.
