Letter to the family
Hello, host family, how are you? My name is Diana. I`m very excited to be a new Au Pair in your family.
I`m from Russia. I was born and raised in Bryansk. It is a small town of Russia which is famous for its nature and friendly people. I am from a family of six: my Mom, my Dad, my older sister, my older brother, my younger brother, and me.
I have a lot of cousins. We have lived in the same neighborhood since I was born. Our grandparents live close by as well. The whole street is full of my relatives. Not only do we see each other every day, but we have a very special family tradition - we get together every Sunday after church at grandparents` house for a family lunch. I’m so blessed to have such an amazing community of people who love and care for me!
My family and I are Christians. We go to Resurrection Baptist Church. This is our beautiful church building. Interesting fact about my family – we are all musicians! We all sing in the church choir where my grandfather is the conductor. I play the piano as well as the bells. Every Christmas and Easter there is a concert in our church with our choir and symphony orchestra, where my whole family take part.
I always dreamt of helping people. That’s why I entered a medical college to study nursing. It’s been quite a challenge but I’m so happy that in less than 4 months I will be a certified nurse.
In my free time, I like reading books. I like to sing and play the piano. I really enjoy taking photos and going for long walks. I have many friends. They all know that I have been dreaming of spending some time abroad since I was a teenager. I found out about the Au Pair program quite recently. I immediately realized that I wanted to take part in it. My mom was one of the first people who supported me in my desire. In 2000, she herself went to the United States on a similar program. She lived in a host family for a year and worked as a babysitter there. My dad also approves my choice to be an Au Pair. My parents believe that this is a great chance for me to improve my English, meet new interesting people and experience a new culture.
I consider myself patient, creative, and organized, qualities that help me connect with children and make every day special for them.
Thank you for considering me as a candidate.
With appreciation,
Diana
