Letter to the family

Hello, my name is Ida :)

I'm currently 22 years old, living as a university student in the city of Aarhus, Denmark. I'm studying global studies, with a focus on Japan. I've always had a big interest in the world. I love to travel, and my favorit kind of trip is the ones where I get to experience local culture closely. Which is one of the reasons I decided to study what I do, to learn about a different culture and language, and the study of the international in general. I have a soft spot for Asia, but I'm open to the whole world.
When I'm not studying I like to read books of all genres. I also love to get creative, I often knit, crochet or even paint. I like also like to go on long walks, both in the city and nature. During school breaks I work full time in Legoland Billund. During those periods I interact with children everyday, it's my favorit job I've ever had.
I also do a lot of volunteer work. I've volunteered working with exchange students for about 5 years, both on national- and local plan.

I would like to experience a daily life in another part of the world. I was an exchange student in 2018, and experienced school life abroad. But now, as an adult, I would like something different. I know the an in-house job would be suitable for me, as I'm not looking for a necessarily wild trip abroad. As mentioned, I'd enjoy a normal daily life. One of the biggest joys of my life is meeting new people, especially when traveling. I would love to live with a family, and experience their daily life, even if it's not particularly different from what I'm used to.

I care a lot for children. They're our future and I wish for them all to experience amazing childhoods before adult life and reality hits. For the past year, I've been living in an apartment with the window beside my desk turned right towards a kindergarten playground. I listen to the children play, laugh and cry everyday, but for some reason I wouldn't be without it. But rather than work at a kindergarten, I would like to focus on one or two children, and be close with them.

Experience

I've worked as a nanny before in my teens for two girls. One in elementary school and the other in kindergarten. We would spend afternoons together, play a lot outside, read books, and watch movies together. It was an amazing time. In general I've been surrounded by children my whole life. I'm the oldest of 5. Three sisters and one brother. I have small cousins on different ages, and it's my favorit thing in the world to play with them. When I've been unable to attend family gatherings, my brother has told me they ask for me and it always touches me right to the heart.

I'd like to take a break from school and go abroad, and I'd love to do it this way. Stay with a family, and help their daily lives. Spend time with children and just help them be happy, and preparing them for life to come.
