Letter to the family

Hello! Thank you kindly for reading my profile, my name is Amelia and I would love to introduce myself and the reasons why I should be considered to care for your children.

I am currently on a gap year after finishing high-school in December 2022. I am taking this pause before starting university to travel and develop my professional capabilities.

Currently, I am working as an Education Support Officer at a primary school. Here I provide curriculum support one on one and in small groups to children who have learning difficulties, disabilities, and behavioural issues. Curriculum support includes helping the students in the classroom, as well as broader literacy support in reading, pronunciation, writing and grammar.

I take great pride in the relationships I have formed with these students, and their progress. Whilst the job requires a great deal of patience, it is incredibly rewarding.

Due to my extensive experience working with children, specifically in educational settings, I am certain I will be able to support your child(ren) to learn English in a natural manner.

I studied Italian for two years in high-school and understand first hand the challenges that come with learning a new language, so can support your child(ren) with empathy and understanding.

ABOUT ME:
I am currently on a gap year after completing high school in December 2022. I am a dedicated student, and have accepted an offer to study Psychology Honours at University after receiving a highschool ranking of 95.75. In Australia, these ranks do not represent a student’s overall score, but their performance in relation to the rest of the country, meaning my ranking places me in the top 5% of Australian students.

Outside of study, I love spending time with my family and travelling to different countries. I adore learning about different cultures, transitions and way of life. My family has previously hosted two exchange students from Japan and after acting as a host sister, I would be incredibly privileged to stay with a host family.

My other hobbies are painting, playing piano, hiking, baking and swimming. I would love to introduce your children to some of these hobbies and interests by creating art and baking activities catered to your child(rens) age(s).

I hope to follow my four year long Psychology honours degree with a two year Masters in order to be registered as a Clinical Psychologist, specialising in child psychology.

Experience

Whist I have yet to have the privilege of being an Au Pair, I believe I have the calibre required to fit seamlessly into any family.

I am a warm and patient person and have a passion for working with children. My current occupation means I am working with primary aged children daily, supporting not only their literacy and numeracy skills, but their communication and interactions with other children.

I understand the level of trust and communication required for the role, and specifically the privilege of being trusted with your children as their Au Pair.

I’m terms of adapting to a different country and way of life, my previous travels around the world have allowed me to develop a love for different cultures and people, meaning I am always open to trying new experiences.
