Mae (17 / Ms. ), Dutch, Student - High School living in Netherlands looking for Au Pair job in Australia, Canada, Norway & Iceland for 4-6 Months

Hi! My name is Mae, I am from Amsterdam, and I am looking for a host family to live with during my oncoming gap year. It has always been my aspiration to take a year off after graduation to travel and work, most preferably travel and work at the same time. Being an au pair is the perfect opportunity for me to make this happen. Having done a lot of babysitting and being the second oldest child of four children, I’d like to think I have experience with childcare. I myself had a great babysitter when I was younger who helped out my parents while taking me and my siblings to the museum or the playground, baking pancakes with us and singing us made-up bedtime songs. I know how important it is to have a caretaker who is also a childs best friend. Being an au pair, I hope to gain more experience in cooking and other household chores, I hope to meet a hospitable family, learn about their country and their culture and have an overall experience of a lifetime!

P.s. When I make the trip, I’ll be sure to pack some hagelslag and stroopwafels ;-)!
