Dear host family,

It has always been my dream, since I was a teenager, to go on an exchange program. However, as the years went by, I ended up putting this desire aside, believing that it might not be possible to achieve it. When I found out about the Au Pair program, I felt like a new door had opened for me. It was a real turning point! Suddenly, my teenage dream was within my reach, and everything I had ever wanted was gathered together in one opportunity. That is why I signed up with great joy in my heart. I am sure that this will be the best experience of my life, as well as an incredible opportunity for my personal and professional growth, while getting to know a new culture and a new country.

My name is Iolana (with a lowercase "i", as it is often confused with a lowercase "L"), but everyone knows me as Nâna — a loving nickname given to me by my cousin when she was still learning to speak and that is how I am called by everyone to this day. I am 23 years old, Brazilian, born in Bragança, Pará, but raised in Ananindeua, also in Pará.

I am quite talkative and curious, but I don't like to invade anyone's personal space, so I limit myself to being like that only with those who allow it. I am a dedicated, hard-working person, and always willing to learn new things. As my grandmother used to say: "Don't ask if I know how to do it; give me the mission." This phrase follows me and reflects my attitude towards challenges. I am also very organized (I can't live or reason in a mess), communicative, although shy, and extremely patient — especially with children!

I believe that a relationship based on respect, trust, and good communication is essential for this experience to be positive for all of us. I am ready to help in whatever way is necessary and contribute to your family's day-to-day life with dedication and affection.
