Dear Future Host Family,

My name is Lilah, and I’m so excited at the thought of joining your family as an au pair. Working with children has always been such a big part of my life. From my very first nanny job with a five-month-old baby to caring for toddlers, twins, and school-aged kids—I’ve learned so much, and I truly love it. Every child is different, and I enjoy figuring out how to connect with them, make them smile, and help them grow in their own unique way.

What draws me to being an au pair is the chance to combine two things I love: caring for kids and experiencing new places and cultures. I’m someone who’s always up for an adventure, but I’m also grounded, dependable, and genuinely passionate about helping families. I want to be more than just a caregiver—I want to be someone your kids can look up to and feel safe around, someone who brings joy and support into your home.

I believe you should host me because I bring both heart and experience. I’m patient, creative, organized, and full of energy. I know how to multitask with little ones, create fun and educational activities, and help keep the home running smoothly. Whether it’s story time, craft time, or clean-up time—I’m always ready to jump in and help.

Experience

I have a strong background in childcare through both professional and volunteer work. I’ve worked as a nanny for several families, caring for infants, toddlers, and school-aged children. In addition to my nanny experience, I’ve volunteered as a Sunday service teacher at my local church, where I’ve led classrooms full of young children—planning activities, crafts, story time, and helping with snack and playtime. I also spent three summers as a Vacation Bible School (VBS) teacher, guiding groups of toddlers and early elementary kids through themed lessons and fun hands-on learning.

Along with that, I’ve been a substitute teacher at a homeschool community, stepping in to support a variety of age groups. This gave me the chance to assist in both educational lessons and classroom management, and it strengthened my ability to adapt quickly to different environments and learning styles.

I want to become an au pair abroad because caring for children is something I truly love, and I’d be honored to support a family while also learning about a new culture. I’m passionate about making kids feel seen, safe, and happy—and I know I can bring both warmth and responsibility into your home. Living abroad as an au pair is the perfect way to continue doing what I love while growing as a person, building connections, and creating lasting memories.
