Dear Host Family,

My name is Maïka, I am 21 years old, and I have just completed a Bachelor's degree in Marketing and Communication. After dedicating the past few years to my studies, I decided to take a gap year to focus on myself and explore new horizons. I am originally from the Caribbean, and I am bilingual in Spanish as my father is Venezuelan. I grew up in a loving and close-knit family with two brothers: an older brother with whom I share a great bond, and a younger brother who has autism and who has taught me a lot about patience, tolerance, and unconditional love.

Becoming an au pair is the perfect opportunity for me to have a rich cultural experience while doing what I love most: taking care of children. I have always been surrounded by kids, and I love sharing my passions with them, whether it’s through sports like swimming and rugby or through moments of discovery and play. I am eager to share my positive energy, curiosity, and enthusiasm with your family while learning from you and your culture.

I believe you should host me because I am a trustworthy, responsible, and caring person. My experience with my autistic brother has helped me develop a strong sense of empathy and an ability to adapt to different situations. Additionally, my interest in discovering new cultures and my naturally curious nature make me an ideal candidate to fit into a new environment and build strong, genuine relationships with your family.

Lastly, I believe my communication skills and open-mindedness qualify me for this role. I can create a safe, fun, and stimulating environment for children. I also enjoy cooking, especially dishes from my home country, and I would be delighted to share warm and enjoyable moments with you around the table. Experience

Je garde des enfants depuis plusieurs années, principalement des enfants de voisins et de proches amis de la famille. Une de mes expériences les plus mémorables a été avec deux enfants de 4 et 7 ans. Je les gardais après l'école, aidant le plus grand avec ses devoirs tout en trouvant des activités amusantes et éducatives pour le plus jeune. Nous avons créé ensemble des jeux autour de l'apprentissage des chiffres et des lettres, et nous avons également passé beaucoup de temps à l'extérieur, explorant la nature et jouant à des jeux de ballon. Cette expérience m'a permis de développer ma capacité à m'adapter aux besoins individuels de chaque enfant et à gérer plusieurs responsabilités en même temps, tout en créant un environnement sûr et bienveillant.
