Letter to the family

My name is Lucy, I am 26 years old and originally from Auckland, New Zealand. I am the second oldest of four children with an English/German mother and a Kiwi dad, so have an NZ and UK passport. I am formally trained as a paediatric nurse, graduating from University in 2020, but have been travelling across Asia and Europe since July 2024. I graduated high school at St Cuthbert's College in 2016 and achieved a 4 year Bachelor of Nursing degree at Massey University in 2020. I have been a paediatric nurse for 4 years at both Wellington Regional and Auckland City Hospital, specialising in Neonatal Intensive Care and Paediatric Oncology. I have spent the last 6 months living and working in Austrian ski town St Anton, privately babysitting for families during their winter holiday breaks. I have been caring for children on and off for over 10 years and have extensive experience as well as housekeeping and cooking abilities. Being an au pair combines two of my favourite things in one; taking care of children and exploring new parts of the world. It also allows me to connect with people and families from other country's and explore new cultures and languages before I set out on more independent travel. Look forward to hearing from you!

Experience

Apart from my professional background caring for sick children, I have been on and off nannying for the last 10 years. I have spent the last six months in Austria working at a ski resort full time taking care of children while there families ski. I have been involved with over 10 families from all over the globe with children's ages ranging from 3 months to 10 years old. I have had to care for up to 5 children at a time so feel very confident in my ability to juggle a number of kids of different ages.
