Letter to the family

Dear Future Host Family,
First of all I want to thank you for taking the time to read my letter and for giving me the chance to share with you myself. My name is Krizelle Lyka Olivar Miñoza, 27 years of age, currently aupair here in The Netherlands. Wayback when I was in the Philippines, I became a full time volunteer in different NGO’s like in the orphanage, community and hospital while working in one of the Financial Industries. Though my course and work experience is way too far from what I’m applying for, I know it will never be a hindrance for me to take good care of your child and do some household chores to be assign. Because since then I used to take good care of my younger siblings and cousins when they were young from preparing their meals, changing diapers, taking them bath and playing. Being the second born and first daughter in the family I used to responsibilities, so you have no problem with me when it comes to household chores or taking care of your children. Aside from volunteering, I am also interested in hiking and experience different foods and view during my travel, cooking and making desserts are one of my interest too. Playing badminton, biking, watching movies and go surfing at the beach is one of my activities. While doing some artworks like cross stitch, rhinestone and mosaic arts, playing instruments like flute and piano, decorating and re-organizing my things in my room are all of my hobbies and interests.I came from a family of six Mom and Dad residing in our province in Baler and both working in the Government office. I have older brother and two younger sisters. Here in the Netherlands I am part of a lovely and thoughtful family, my job is to look after to not so young children their ages are 13, 12 and 8 years old. I am responsible with their school stuff, bringing the youngest to school, assisting and checking if everything is okay. Because my host parents are both Doctor so they really need my help with the children, I also cook food for them. Being away from home is not new to me since college because I studied far away from my home and trying to live on my own. I wanted to be an Au pair because I want to see and experience the culture in my next country. I want to learn new language and explore the beautiful nature and other good places. I want to meet new friends too and make an exciting and unforgettable memories to be share off when I get home. If you will give me the chance to be your Au pair I assure you that I will help you whole heartedly with my task and taking care of your children. I believe that being an au pair isn’t about childcare, it is also being a good role model to the child, a big friend, a big sister she can always rely physically and mentally. I might be shy at first but I am very approachable and will be talkative later on. I am excited to be part of your family.

Experience

Being an Aupair is a lot different from my course and worked, but it gave me a lot of unforgettable and meaningful experience and a life lesson that I can carry throughout the years. It helps me develop myself in different aspects, being away from home is the number one reason to be strong and be responsible on your own, as being confident when talking to others too and of course taking good care of myself as I am taking good care of the children of my host too.
