Letter to the family

Dear host,
I am a 20 year old English student, studying English Literature, Italian and Spanish at the university of Edinburgh in Scotland. I have spent 6 years studying Italian and I am now able to speak it well, although not fluently.
I lived and worked in Lugo, Emilia-Romagna in Italy for 6 months from June-December 2020. I was working as an au pair for an Italian family, helping to look after 3 children, aged 3, 6 and 9. I loved my experience with the family so much and I gained many skills; not only was I able to improve my Italian but I also was able to immerse myself into authentic Italian family life. I am a hard-working and motivated worker who has a genuine passion for childcare and education and so I feel I could provide an excellent service for your family! I am low-maintenance with no dietary requirements.
I am looking to work for a family in Italy over the summer of 2022 for a month or so.

Experience

I have a passion for working with children and spent 6 months working as an au pair for an Italian family in Emilia-Romagna. I gained many skills from this experience and now feel competent and confident in my ability to provide a high level of childcare. I also spent 4 months working in a care home in the UK, helping to look after the elderly residents. Although challenging at times, this fantastic experience (made more difficult by the Covid-19 pandemic) enabled me to grow as a person and development so many critical life skills, such as working as a team, catering my care work to a wide variety of needs and communication.
