Dear Future Host Family,

My name is Salome, and I’m currently a student at Fachhochschule Südwestfalen in Soest, Germany. Originally from Kenya, I’ve always had a deep love for children and a natural ability to care for them. As the eldest child in a close-knit African family, I’ve been caring for my younger brother and cousins since they were born. Over the years, I’ve also gained experience babysitting in my church and volunteering as an English teacher in elementary schools back home. Additionally, I’ve often accompanied my mother—who is a counselor—to support young parents, caring for their children during her sessions.

After spending a year in Germany, I’ve realized how much I miss being in a warm, family environment, surrounded by children and pets. That’s why I’m excited about the opportunity to become an Au Pair. I plan to take a semester break to focus on learning German, and I believe living with a host family will allow me to improve my language skills while doing something I truly enjoy—caring for children and contributing to family life.

I believe I would be a great fit for your family because I am friendly, responsible, and nurturing. I bring not only years of hands-on experience with children, but also a deep sense of commitment and love for family life.
