Marie (32 / Ms. ), Gambian, Teacher living in Gambia looking for Nanny job in Kuwait, Luxembourg, France, Germany & Italy for 6-24 Months

Dear family,
My name is Marie. I am 31 year -old (female) Gambian school teacher. Although I currently live in Serrekunda, where I am working as an English language and Arts &Craft teacher, I actually come from Brikama. Compared to Serrekunda Brikama is a small town.

I come from a family of 6:my parents are divorced but we all live with our mom, my mom runs a small business at the Brikama market. I have 2 elder sisters,1 elder brother and 2 younger ones a boy and a girl. My elder sister Rose, is a school teacher in Kotu call apple Tree international. The 2nd Cecilia is a nurse in America, the 3rd Edward is in the university studying law , you have me the 4th a school teacher I went to The Gambia College (HTC) called Gambia’s Teacher’s Certificate, the 5th Robert he has a timber business back at home and the last 6th Anna is in (GTTI) called Gambia Technical Institute.

I am working in a catholic school called St.Therese’s Upper Basic School the biggest school in The Gambia. I taught for four years now . I am a subject teacher and a class teacher, every year am given a class and their are 36 students in my class. I love teaching and taking care of children in school and outside the school.

I speak an immediate level of French. I begun learning it in junior school. I am nevertheless aware that learning a language within a classroom context is by itself,incomplete. So, in order to really be at ease in French, I feel that a cultural immersion would do me a lot good.Through my language teachers,(most of whom are French and Arts) I have learnt a lot about France, the French painting and life in france. Hence my desire to have first hand experiencing family life in Frence, Sweden,America,Canada,Dubai,UK ,Singapore etc, since they offers a cultural context that is undoubtedly different from mine.For this reason,I would very much like to find a nice family to live with and work for in many countries.

When it comes to child care experience,I have looked after children in both formal and informal contexts. Over the years,as part of my teaching,I worked for some teachers who have kids and working as a teacher any time am free in the school I take care of their children. Among others, I provided after-school tuition to children age between 5-15 years.Also organized for them and took part in recreational indoor and outdoor activities:we sang ,dance,played games, role played, drew, painted and narrated stories. We also visited the public library, the local animal park, went out on picnics and a camping trips.

I have helped my parents look after my brother and sister since birth. Although my looking after them is now restricted because they are adults now, as a young lady I was nevertheless much more involved in caring for them on a daily basis. I can sincerely enjoy spending time with children.

When it comes to leisure, I take pleasure in the simple things in life.I enjoy being indoors and outdoors, being with my friends, going for walks, visiting places I have not been to, and reading a good book. I also enjoy drawing and painting,I often propose drawing and painting activities to my brother and sister.Did i tell you that I love shopping and dancing?

As far as preferences are concerned, I am looking for a live-in arrangement with a host family, that would be happy to have me stay with and work for them for at least 6months or 1 year. Lastly although i am quite flexible,I would prefer to have working hours that would allow me to attend day time French or any language classes.
