Letter to the family

Hi! My name’s Laia, I’m 22 years old, I’m originally from Barcelona. I grew up speaking Catalan and Spanish at home, while attending the French Lycée, where I learned French and English from a young age. Later on, I picked up Italian through both studies and several years of working closely with Italian teams. And lastly I’m currently learning German, since I moved to Berlin when I was 19 years and then Vienna.

Right now, I’m traveling and learning from the world firsthand — meeting people from different cultures, adapting to new places, and constantly seeing how powerful language is when it comes to understanding others and building meaningful connections. That’s something I’d love to pass on to your kids: the joy of communication, the confidence to express themselves, and the curiosity to explore new cultures and perspectives.

Whether through fun conversations, games, or storytelling, I love creating a relaxed and supportive space where kids can feel safe, understood, and inspired, all while naturally picking up or practicing another language.

If you’re looking for someone who’s caring, open-minded, and brings both structure and spontaneity to time spent with your child, I’d love to help out!

Experience

Throughout high school, I worked as a private tutor for kids of different ages, helping them with a wide range of subjects, especially languages. I’ve supported students with schoolwork, explained tricky concepts in simple ways, and often just helped them feel more confident and calm while learning. I discovered early on that I really enjoy connecting with kids, understanding how they think and learn.

Growing up multilingual (Catalan, Spanish, French, English, and Italian), and attending the French Lycée in Barcelona, I’ve always seen language as a bridge. Not just for communication, but for empathy and discovery. Now that I’m traveling and meeting people from all over the world, I see even more clearly how valuable it is to grow up feeling comfortable in different cultures and languages.

That’s why I’m drawn to online tutoring and virtual childcare. I’d love to create a warm, encouraging space for kids. A place where they feel safe to ask questions, be themselves, and enjoy learning, whether we’re going over homework, playing games, or just chatting in another language. Doing this while abroad makes it even more meaningful, I get to share my own global experience with young minds who are just starting to explore the world in their own way.
