Letter to the family
Originally translated from Español
Dear Host Family,
I am writing to you with great enthusiasm and motivation to express my interest in becoming your family's Au Pair. My name is Sharick Lucia, I am 23 years old, and I am from Barranquilla, Atlántico, a small city on the northern coast of Colombia, where hips sway to the sound of music, people are cheerful, and the warmth is as sweltering as the turquoise colors of our Caribbean Sea. I speak Spanish and a little English. I am currently learning French and would like to continue exploring the wonderful world of languages.
I am passionate about life, literature, and the beauty of the world around us. I love landscapes, flower meadows, and romantic literature. However, what I am most passionate about is working with children. I love their energy, their curiosity, and their ability to learn and grow.
I want to be an Au Pair because I love children
and I want to give them my love, care, and dedication. I also want to travel and see the world, learn about new cultures and ways of life. I would like to have a loving family to whom I can share my knowledge and from whom I can learn a lot.
I think you should host me because I love children and am willing to give them all my love and care. My little brother Owen has been fundamental in my personal growth. Taking care of him has taught me the beauty of childhood and has made me more aware of the reality faced by people with autism. I am confident I can provide the same love and care to your children.
I qualify for the Au Pair position because I have experience in childcare, not only with children who are completely healthy, but also with autistic children and those with speech-language difficulties. I have cared for my siblings and my nephews, and I am confident I can provide the same care and dedication to your children. In my senior year of high school, I worked as an intern for a year at an elementary school as a substitute teacher.
I realized how necessary it is to live and enjoy my youth, take advantage of knowledge, and explore new cultures. I am excited to have the opportunity to join your family as an Au Pair. I am confident that my love for children, my experience in childcare, and my passion for life will make me an excellent fit for your family.
I appreciate your time and consideration. I look forward to the opportunity to meet you and discuss further how I can contribute to your family's life.
Sincerely,
Sharick Lucia
