Dear future host,

Hello and good day! My name is Adrian, I am a 23-year-old American college student who is studying linguistics at my local community college. I am someone who loves people, loves learning languages and loves children! My dream is to be able to travel, as my studies include learning a lot about different cultures and languages. I have a lot of hobbies; I write, draw and I'm currently attempting to learn how to knit, but unless you enjoy beige lumpy scarves you'll have to wait until I can knit anything for you haha. I've also played the cello for over 10 years! I'm willing to try almost anything at least once (though I have a horrid fear of heights; skydiving once was more than enough for me!)

I really want to become an au pair because I love the idea of living and working in a place other than the USA, experiencing other cultures, foods and languages and being able to do so by providing household help or childcare sounds like an amazing opportunity! I am very familiar with looking after children; although I have very little professional experience I help my mom's friends look after their tiny ones, and I've always been the one to look after my cousins and little siblings (I have 21 cousins!). I do freelance babysitting on the side, and my brother and his wife also recently had my niece, so I've been helping them whenever I can since they both work full time. On a personal note, my dream is to escape America so I can have a family in a place where they will be safe from guns, but I refuse to have them while I still live here. The au pair program would be the perfect opportunity to experience life in other places.
