Hello! My name is Emelia, I am 18 and from the United States. Some of my hobbies include reading (I love philosophy, manga, and poetry), listening to music, playing guitar (an electric guitar so it goes into my headphones, not loud at all), biking around my city, plants, and hiking. I have just graduated from simultaneous enrollment at my high school and local community college, so I currently have my high school diploma and associates degree. For further education, i'm very interested in cultural studies, sociology, and ethnography.

I want to become an Au Pair so that I can better learn German and experience the culture. As of now my German is very elementary but I am continuing to study it every day, and I hope that during my Au Pair in Germany I will be able to understand better both the language and the culture! So far I have only visited the United States and Canada, so I think that expanding my worldview is very important for my further graduation into an adult, and am looking forward to doing that in Germany!

The type of family that I am looking for is someone that would see me as a temporary extension of your family, not just an employee. As when we're going to be living together for quite some time, i'd like for there to be more comfortability between us than just an employee-employer relationship. I'd also like someone that has an open mind towards all kinds of people, i'm someone very adamant against anti-blackness and anti-transness and see that both of those are becoming more common.
