Letter to the family
Originally translated from Français
Hello, dear family!
My name is Eva (pronounced Ava), I am 100% French and I am 18 years old.
I honestly think that one of my biggest dreams would be to move to an English-speaking country because I have always loved their mentality, the fact of inspiring each other rather than being jealous of them.
That is why I decided to combine my love for children with my desire to discover a new place, new people and cultures other than mine for a year, as an au pair and why not study there if I have a crush on the country.
It is important to know that I am someone who loves to travel above all else — it is also one of my life goals, and that I attach great importance to family ties. I come from a large family. I have 2 older brothers (aged 25 and 26 respectively) and a little sister (almost 6 years old). I have always had this role of "second mother" with my little sister and my little cousins, which has allowed me to acquire a lot of experience with children. This is one of the reasons why I would like my host family to have this same desire and to give as much importance to their family, to travel and to this desire to integrate me completely into their world.
I am someone who is fundamentally kind and respectful. I always try to pay attention to the desires and emotions of the people around me. I am a sunny person who will always look for the positive in a situation that is not necessarily so. I love to laugh, play, talk and spend time with children and I am always looking to learn something.
I like to discover whether it is about food, customs, sports, cultures or other. Finally, I would say that I am sometimes impulsive when something or someone tries to affect a person I value and appreciate.
It is for all these reasons that I think I am qualified for this position. Through my family and my thousand and one cousins, I learned to face dangerous situations while remaining calm because I quickly realized that children tend to fixate on our emotions. Thanks to them, I learned to occupy children in many ways, by cooking, dancing, singing, telling stories...
In addition, I have always lived in a large group at home, with my brothers and sister, my mother and my stepfather, then I moved alone into an apartment for a year, so I am able to adapt according to the people I live with.
