Letter to the family

Dear Host Family,

My name is Nesrine, I’m 22 years old and I’m from France. Ever since I was a child, I’ve always loved being around kids and taking care of them. Becoming an au pair was a natural choice for me, as I’ve always been passionate about childcare and creating meaningful connections with children.

I’m currently living in Boston, USA, where I’ve been working as an au pair for the past four months, and I plan to stay until December 2025 — completing a full year here. I take care of two wonderful little girls, aged 5 and 7. My daily routine includes helping them get ready for school, planning educational and creative activities, and making sure they are always safe, happy, and cared for. I truly enjoy spending time with them and being part of their lives — it’s incredibly rewarding.

Before this experience, I already had a lot of childcare experience. I am the eldest of four siblings: two little sisters (now 10 and 15) and a younger brother (now 18). I’ve been involved in raising them since they were babies, which gave me a strong sense of responsibility from a very young age. I also often looked after my friends’ children, whether it was babysitting or helping out during weekends and holidays.

In everyday life, I’m someone very active — I love sports, outdoor activities, and spending quality time doing fun things with kids. Whether it’s organizing games, going for walks, dancing, or just being creative together, I always try to make each moment enjoyable and enriching. I also love reading, both for myself and with children — sharing stories is one of my favorite ways to connect and encourage imagination.

My role as an au pair goes beyond just watching the kids — I aim to create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where they can grow, learn, and feel confident. Their well-being is always my top priority.

While I’ve truly enjoyed my time here in Boston, I’m now looking forward to discovering new places, new families, and continuing this journey in a different environment once my year here is complete. I believe each experience brings new opportunities to learn and grow — both for the kids and for me.

Thank you for considering my application. I would be happy to speak with you and answer any questions you may have!

Warm regards,
Nesrine

Experience

Since I was young, I’ve always had a natural connection with children. Growing up as the eldest in my family, I took on the role of caring for my younger siblings and quickly developed a deep sense of responsibility and care. Taking care of children has always come easily to me, and I genuinely enjoy being there for them, guiding them, and watching them grow.

I decided to become an au pair because I wanted to combine my love for children with my desire to experience different cultures and live abroad. I love spending time with kids, organizing fun, educational activities, and making sure they are safe, happy, and learning. I believe that being active and engaged is key to fostering a positive environment for children, so I enjoy getting involved in sports, outdoor activities, and creative games.

Currently, I’m in Boston, where I’m caring for two lovely girls. This experience has been incredibly rewarding, and it’s reaffirmed my passion for working with children. As I plan to continue this journey, I look forward to discovering new places and families where I can continue to grow and offer my support to children in a loving, safe environment.
