Experience

Dear families,
I started my career as a Babysitter in 2014 when I did my 'licence for babysitting'. It helped to learn the basics about how to deal with children and infants.
But I gained my real experience the years after. All in all I helped 6 six families during the last 5 years.
When I started at this family their boy was 1 year old. Now he's six and had become a brother who is now 2 years old. I was with them once a week. I picked him up from kindergarden, went with him to the playground, played with him and was there for him when he needed to be comforted.
I enjoyed being with him because he was so honest and joyful, I could learn a lot from him. At the same time I had the possibility to teach him a lot of things. I'm still working at this family and looking after both children now.
This first contact inspired me and I developed my passion for children.
I like being a role model for them and help them in every situation.
I try to be a friend, attachment figure and authority at the same time.
The next family I joined had also two kids.
Their son is 5 and their daughter 2.
At that family I was often in the evening and at night. So I put them to bed and make them fall asleep again if they woke up. This experience helped me to understand children and their fears. It teached me also to explain to them why they have to do certain things (for example going to bed).
I liked it because I could understand their point of view better.
Since 2017 I'm with a 4 year old girl who became a sister in 2018. Her brother is now 2 years old.
At the beginning she was very difficult and didn't accept me that well. This showed me that every child is different and I learned that patience and tolerance is very important.
Since her brother is born I feet him with the bottle, Change his diaper and help him fall asleep.
My last family has three children.
For three years now I am Always around two month with them for 5-4 times a week in the afternoon. They have two daughters ( 4,6) and one son (2). Usually they have an au pair so I was always there in the spare time.
It was very great because I could get an inside in what an au pair has to do. My duties were to play with them, bath them, dry their hair, dress them, make them dinner, helping to bring them to bed and a lot more. I learned to make compromises with them and bring them to do the things they have to (although it wasn´t always easy).
I liked this experience very much because I could be every day with them and it was good to see how easily their moods can change.
In my own family I have my cousin, she is now 10 years old. I spended and still spend a lot of time with her since she is born. I mostly play and speak to her as a sister.
