Letter to the family

Hello! My names Hemma and I'm really interested in working as an au pair 2021/22. I am a recent graduate of BA Politics & International Relations, but I think there is much more to a person than their degree!! I love ice-skating (not the falling over part so much) and badminton. I'm very sociable and love getting to know people from various walks of life. Some of my hobbies are reading, going to the cinema, hiking and trying new foods. I always like to push myself academically and in my personal life to try out new things and I am very much a get-up-and-go type gal. It's probably obvious from my degree title that travelling globally is very important for me. I chose Au Pair as I really want an immersive experience abroad so getting to know a lovely family and the culture of a new country is something I'm really looking forward to doing. I am big on volunteering and doing my part for the community so I regularly help out at soup kitchens/ work with refugees and would really love to be welcomed into a family with a similar philanthropic outlook. Overall I'm hardworking, motivated and very much a peoples person. I have experience working with children on the Autistic spectrum as I spent many of my formative years caring for my younger brother on the spectrum and I am very open to working with children with any access needs.

Experience

I have spent much time baby-sitting and caring for my younger cousins from the age of 15. Some of my fondest memories as a child was being read to and I can't wait to spread more joy through reading to the next generation. I have also spent 2+ years as an online tutor for English Literature and Language. Being a tutor has bought me so much joy and I genuinely have so much admiration and care for my tutees. I think growing up can be really hard at times and I really do think I can provide some reliable guidance throughout this period.
