Letter to the family
Hello, family:
My name is Jenny, I am 26 years old and I live in Colombia, in a city called Pereira. It is a beautiful place, characterized by its tranquility and the kindness of the people who live here. I have a degree in Human Resources and I am currently a student of digital graphic design and digital marketing. I have taken courses in childcare, fundamentals of autism spectrum disorder, play for growth, disabilities in early childhood, growing together, the arts in children's lives, child pedagogy, and psychomotor development.
I am a very kind and happy person. I truly enjoy talking, laughing, and telling jokes; but above all, I am a loyal person. For me, it is very important to connect with my surroundings and help the people around me whenever I can. I love to draw and paint; I feel that art is a great treasure I hold inside me. I also enjoy cooking and making desserts; it's one of my favorite hobbies. Whenever I can, I create new recipes. I love water; I enjoy swimming and practicing water sports. I have taken theater and dance classes. I also practice skating. I really like sports, especially those that require skills. I love classical music; I also enjoy singing quite a bit. I love to read all kinds of literature, but especially history. I really enjoy writing stories and poems. I love to travel, take walks, and participate in outdoor activities like camping; I try to do this whenever I can. I feel that one of my talents is talking to people, connecting with them, and helping them understand how they think and feel. I always try to make others a little happier. I have quite a bit of experience driving, not only cars but also motorcycles. You will find in me a loyal person with whom you will always have something fun to do or talk about.
I live with my grandparents. My grandmother, María, is a wonderful person; she is 66 years old and really enjoys knitting and doing crafts. My grandfather, Carlos, works as a construction worker; he is 70 years old and, although he is older, he is very active. He loves sports, enjoys riding his bike, and watching sports on television, like tennis, cycling, and boxing. I also live with my aunt, Marina; she is 65 years old and is a chef; her specialty is exotic food, from which I have learned a lot.
We have a beautiful cat named Perla; she is 8 years old and not very friendly, but she is our lovely companion. I really like animals, especially rabbits.
I have extensive experience caring for children. Currently, I am a caregiver for a lovely baby named Martín; he is 1 year old. He is a very active and mischievous boy, but above all, he is a happy child. I care for Martín 3 days a week: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., and Sundays from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. I have cared for him since he was 2 months old, with a lot of love and dedication. Since he was a baby, I have fed him, changed him, and tried to be part of every moment of his life, from teaching him new words and his first meals to helping him use the bathroom or walk. What I love most about him is how much he loves me; he is very special to me.
I also take care of Jorge Andrés on Wednesdays and Fridays, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. He is a 10-year-old boy, very intelligent and active, whom I have cared for over the last 2 years. He really enjoys riding his bike and watching movies. I always help him with his homework and teach him the importance of being an honest person. What I like most about him is that I can learn something new from his mischief every day, and he teaches me the importance of raising and caring for our children with love.
On weekends, I conduct painting and drawing workshops for children in the community. It is a space I offer with a lot of love and dedication, where they can develop their artistic skills. Every year-end, since I care a lot about charitable works, I organize an activity called "A Smile for Christmas," where I collect many toys and donate them to underprivileged children, as doing good fills my soul.
Why do I want to be an au pair? As I have indicated throughout my letter, I really enjoy serving others and I have a great dream that I want you to be part of. I want to make history by doing good, to be a person remembered, and what better way to do that than by helping to shape the minds of the future. I want to learn a lot about American culture and understand what you, as a family, can teach me, in addition to helping care for your children with love and understanding. I want you to know my culture and my roots, as well as what defines me as a person. Of course, I also want to learn a lot of English so that when I return to my country, I will have the foundation to create a foundation that specializes in the care and support of children, not just financially, but also mentally and emotionally, focused on learning
I'm with expert au pair
I arrived in the country 6 days ago, but my family was not what I expected. I am sincerely a very loving and committed person and I want to have a good au pair experience.
