Dear host family
My name is Berani Palma. I like to be called Inareb, I am 22 years old. I was born in Venezuela and raised in Colombia. Currently, I live there in the capital with my parents and my two siblings: Geraldine, my sister who is 25 years old, and Raul, our little brother who is only 19. We all get along very well and enjoy spending time together as a family. As I am the 3rd sister of 4 siblings, I am quite used to taking care of my siblings and sometimes assuming a role of responsibility for them and my little cousins ​​who are the youngest in the house, but I have to admit that I really like having that responsibility. Last year I graduated in foreign trade and worked for an import company in the city of Barranquilla. I love getting to know other cultures, that is why I decided to study that career. As I studied it in Barranquilla, I had to move from my parents' house when I was 16 years old and I lived there for the 4 years that my studies lasted. That experience helped me grow as a person and get to know myself better. Also, since I shared an apartment with other students and other kids who were working, I learned to be more patient and flexible with other people's habits and routines. That helped me a lot when I moved to Valledupar in my third year of college. From the moment I arrived there, I fell in love with that apartment and that's why I would love to go back again, but now as an au pair. I've always loved being with children, I think it's incredible how much they can teach us. I love playing with them and watching them grow, and that's the reason I started working as a babysitter on weekends during my time as a student. I used to take care of children between the ages of 2 and 11. I felt very lucky to be able to earn some money while doing a job that I loved, but I also learned that dealing with children can be quite a challenge sometimes. They have a lot of energy, so I was always looking for new activities to entertain them. I played different games with them, took them to the park or the pool, read them stories and acted them out, but one of the activities I enjoyed the most was baking cakes and desserts with them. Of course, I also helped them with their homework. I am a very active person and I love outdoor activities such as cycling, hiking, camping or just going for a walk. But my real passion is learning new languages ​​as I only speak my native language and understanding other cultures
