Dear Host Family:

My name is Maryuri, I'm from Bogotá, the capital of Colombia.

I currently live with my husband and two dogs named Mia and Miel, where we enjoy spending time together as a family.

A while ago, I used to babysit children between the ages of 0 and 11. I felt very fortunate to be able to earn some money while doing a job I loved. I learned that working with children is a challenge, and they have a lot of energy, so activities are a great way to learn and do new things. I also played different games with them, took them to the park or the pool, if necessary, read them stories, and we acted them out. One of the activities I enjoyed most was making cakes and desserts with them. Of course, I also helped them with their homework.

Throughout my life, I've worked with children as a volunteer in churches and foundations. It's a job I'm passionate about, and I enjoy being able to serve and help while also learning from everything children can teach us!

I focused my studies on the health field. I studied a Competency-Based Oral Health Technician, which I've been working in for the past few years.

I've been aware of the au pair profession for some time now, and I'd love to experience my love for children in a different way, learn about the culture of another country, and share my own.
