Luana (24 / Ms. ), Brazilian, Physiotherapist living in Brazil looking for Au Pair job in USA for >1 year

I worked as a volunteer for a while in my church. I took care of a group of kids (Male and Female) between 6 - 10 years old. Usually they were around 8 kids and i was responsible for recreation and childcare. I read books for them, helped them paint pictures and drawings, played with dolls and strollers, played board games, made plays and also created cards for parents to further develop writing and creativity. I took care of a boy named Thomas for 6 months, took care of him from 6 to 12 months of age, I used to prepare his bottle, change his diapers, fed him and also put him to sleep. In addition, I used my physical therapy skills and creativity to arouse the baby's interest in colors, movements, sounds and voices. I learned a lot during these 6 months as a nanny, I evolved as a human being, I learned child care and how to help with his needs. Children are my passion and I loved the experience because I think their smile is the most genuine thing in the world and I love being with them, playing with them or helping with their needs, it's like a therapy for me. I feel great when I am with them because they are innocent, spontaneous and full of life. They have a lot of energy and this is contagious!

I decided to become an Au Pair, first of all because I love children, I love caring and playing with them, making friends, teaching them new things, I am a confident person and I really enjoyed my time working with children. I really think it is a gift to see the world through your eyes. I will have the opportunity to know a new culture, new customs and improve my English. I believe it will be one of the best experiences for me because I have never traveled this far and I know it will add a lot to my life experience. My goal is to make the most of it and live the best I can in this long-awaited year and learn a lot from everything. I want to enjoy every moment of this experience.
