Letter to the family

As a passionate educator with a deep commitment to the arts, I am eager to inspire students to express themselves, build confidence, and grow creatively. I believe that through drama, students not only develop vital communication and teamwork skills but also gain a profound understanding of the importance of imagination and creativity in their lives.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Drama and Music, which has provided me with a strong foundation in both disciplines and the confidence to teach in these subjects. With extensive experience in the performing arts, I am well-versed in the interdisciplinary nature of music, theatre, and dance. Additionally, my active involvement in the industry allows me to offer students valuable insights and real-world knowledge, which I would be honoured to share in the classroom.I am excited about the opportunity to nurture creativity and collaborate with students to help them reach their full potential in the arts.

In my current role as Skills and Transitions Supervisor at an OSCHC I am responsible for identifying and supporting students’ transitions between grades and skill development by implementing learning opportunities into our activity program. This role is quite independent and I have personally created two skills-based curriculum programs developing social-emotional learning and life skills for our senior students transitioning from primary school. This position requires me to work in conjunction with the services leadership team and key stakeholders to develop excellence in our service through meticulous documentation. Additionally to these responsibilities, I created the drama club which was independently run by myself, where the group worked towards an end-of-semester performance for families and friends whilst also developing skills utilising the elements of drama. I hold First Aid, CPR and Diabetes certificates that allow me to ensure the safety of those around me.

In previous employment opportunities, I have had the pleasure of teaching across multiple genres of the performing arts whether that be, singing, drama, dance or instrumental music. In these roles, I have both created and taught from lesson plans following strict performance schedules with end goals whilst still maintaining the importance of individual self-expression and enjoyment for my students. In my role as Venue Manager at Stage School Australia, I was responsible for the meticulous documentation and collation of student records, attendance and providing first aid and support to families and students alike. All of these roles have provided me with irreplaceable arts-teaching specific skills that I believe I can bring to this role. I look forward to the possibility of contributing to your school's vibrant arts program.
