Letter to the family

Hello! My name is Molly and I am an American student currently living in Brussels, Belgium. I moved to Europe four years ago to immerse myself in the Spanish language and culture. After one year and a half in Madrid, I moved to Belgium to learn French! My time in these countries has been nothing short of fulfilling, as on top of developing cultural sensitivity, I have fulfilled my passion for working with children and adolescents. In total, I have over a year of combined experience in ESL instruction, summer camp counseling, child safety monitoring, and primary school volunteering within three different countries (Spain, Belgium, USA). I am exceptionally excited about teaching my native language, English. Working with all different kinds of age groups has become second nature to me. My style of youth interaction is wholly enthusiastic. I believe it is essential to find a balance between discipline and fun with kids, to maintain an excited outlook on the world while also keeping them safe. Living alone during the past two years has taught me how to be fully independent, clean, and organized. Any work that I do is going to have my name on it, and I believe it should be done well.

Experience

I would love to spend my summer developing my skills in interacting with children and young adults. I plan to become a secondary school teacher after training in England this fall. I want to be fully prepared for my future career while also enjoying the culture of a new country that I have never visited before. I am incredibly open to trying new experiences, learning languages, and adapting to new environments around me. I believe being an Au Pair is one of the best ways to do so!
