Letter to the family
Dear future host family,
My name is Andrea Martina, but everyone calls me Marty. I’m 23 years old and I’m from Córdoba, Argentina.
I come from a big and loving family. I live with my mom Viviana and my younger brother Máximo, but I’m also very close to my two older brothers, Mauro and Matías, and I have four wonderful nephews: Mikeas, Santino, Benjamín, and Benicio. Becoming an aunt at the age of 13 was life-changing for me. I’ve been actively involved in caring for my nephews since they were babies — feeding, changing diapers, playing, and supporting them through important milestones. These experiences are part of what awakened my passion for childcare.
At the age of 19, I began a beautiful journey as an au pair, first in the United States and then in the Netherlands, where I spent a full year living with a wonderful Dutch family. I cared for two lovely children — a girl aged 7 and a boy aged 4. We developed a strong bond based on mutual affection, playfulness, and daily routines. It was their third time having an au pair, so they spoke English fluently, which made communication very natural. I also started learning some Dutch and enjoyed being immersed in a new culture, something that truly excites me.
In the United States, I lived with two different host families. The first one had three children — twin boys aged 9 and a 2-year-old — and everything went really well. Sadly, after four months, the host dad was transferred abroad for work, and since my visa was only valid in the U.S., I couldn’t go with them. We had a friendly rematch and stayed on great terms. Then I matched with a wonderful second family in Louisiana: two amazing parents and their 18-month-old son, Walter. I spent most of the time caring for him, teaching him Spanish, and sharing a beautiful daily routine together. Both experiences were enriching and taught me the value of cultural exchange, patience, and love.
Besides my au pair experience, I’ve also worked as a nanny in Argentina for over three years with a family of three boys (twins of 7 and their little brother). I’ve helped them grow since they were babies and remain in their lives even after returning from abroad — they are part of my heart.
When I was younger, I also volunteered in children’s groups and taught catechism classes to kids aged 9 to 12. I’ve always felt drawn to working with children in loving and educational environments.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, watching movies, and dancing. I studied musical comedy and absolutely love singing and acting. I’m currently studying to become an English teacher, because languages fascinate me and I want to keep growing both professionally and personally. Being an au pair gave me the confidence to pursue this path.
Now, I dream of repeating this beautiful experience in Denmark, a country that deeply interests me for its values, nature, and family life. I would love to become part of your family — helping you in your daily life, supporting your children with love and creativity, and sharing joyful, caring, and respectful moments together. I truly believe that children deserve attention, affection, and guidance, and that’s exactly what I hope to offer.
Thank you for taking the time to read my letter. I hope to hear from you soon and start this new adventure with you!
Warm hugs,
Marty!
