Letter to the family

Hello! My name is Silvia. I am a university student in England of Hispanic origin. I speak Spanish and English fluently and I have an intermediate level of French (B2) since I study French as part of my career. I would like to improve my fluency in French and immerse myself in the French culture. In January 2020 I will move to France to work as an elementary school teacher, so working as an Au Pair is a good opportunity to get used to the language and culture.

I have experience working with children in a basketball camp in the US and volunteering for refereeing basketball games in England. My role consisted of encouraging children to be involved and engaged with all activities while enjoying the experience. These served as opportunities for children to see me as a role model in the sports environment and improve my communication skills with children of different ages. Additionally, I have worked as a babysitter and tutor from a young age, taking care and teaching family members and others. I taught them English, Spanish and basic subjects.

Experience

I have worked as a tutor for primary and secondary school children, which has improved my understanding and relationship with children.
For many years I have taken care of newborns and children from family members. Watching them grow up has inspired me to become a teacher in the future.
I have recently arrived from the south of France where I had my first experience as an Aupair taking care of Melo, an one year old. One of my greatest accomplishments while taking care of Melo was the process of teaching him how to walk, at the beginning he could only walk by holding my hand and one day he just started walking and running. This motivated me to continue working as an Aupair
