Letter to the family

I am 22 and currently living in Australia where I was born and raised. My dad was born in York, England, and hence my interest in moving to the UK. I have always grown up with a very English-based background and family and would love to experience the culture myself.
I am currently working as a Practice Manager in a Paediatric Dental Practice where I just recently completed my Certificate III in Dental Assisting (Dental Nursing) and spend my day-to-day interactions with children as young as newborns right up to 18 years old.
Growing up I always knew I wanted to work with children, I did a lot of babysitting when I was younger right up until now and still often babysit local families and friends. I have a younger brother who is 5 years younger than me who I also spent a lot of time looking after.
I am a very kind and caring person; I like to think of myself as someone who is open to try new things and loves a challenge and adventure. I would also say I am very young at heart (younger!) I love getting in and playing with children instead of just sitting back and watching them have all the fun! I think it is important to interact on another level with them.

Experience

This will be my first time as an Au Pair but I do have a lot of experience in working with children!
My first job when in high school was working as a tutor assistant before and after school at an English and Math-based tutoring company. In my time at Kumon Education, I interacted with children of various ages (usually between the ages of 5-12) where I assisted them with their bookwork, marked their completed workpieces, and overall provided a fun and enjoyable environment.
I also did a lot of babysitting from a younger age right up until now, I babysat various ages of children and have looked after as little as under 12 months old.
I currently am working full-time as a practice manager at a pediatric dental clinic. We specialize in children and only see newborns up to 17/18 years old. A lot of the time my day-to-day activities include interacting with patients, making them feel safe and comfortable in the clinic, and providing dental services. I also am a qualified dental nurse so I often spend a lot of time chairside in the surgery rooms!
My interest in being an Au Pair really comes down to the experience and ability to build connections with a family and provide care. I love looking after children and seeing them happy, it really fills me with joy and a sense of purpose. Right now, I am not certain if I want to go back to studying and would really like to focus the next few years on experiencing new things and doing something I love!
