Letter to the family

Hello! My name is Kylee and I am looking forward to being your Au Pair. Here are some things you should know about me.

I am a 17 year old girl from Colorado, United States. I have been working with kids since I was 11 years old and have enjoyed every second of it. I am learning French through school and can hold a conversation in it. I love to dance, listen to music, going on walks, and learning about new cultures. I can cook basic meals and I like to bake. I'm currently getting ready to graduate high school. I love adventures and to travel and am going to take a gap year after graduating. I look forward to discovering a new corner of the world with your family! I'm ready to try something new!

I live with my dad (who is an IT manager), my mom (an executive assistant) 2 sisters (15 and 13), and a brother (9). My family loves sports and to spend time with each other. My siblings are very sporty and are very involved with the community. My family also has a miniature poodle named Grizzly who is very energetic and loves to snuggle! My family has hosted an exchange student ( July) from Austria and I consider her my sister as well. I'm so glad for that experience as it was a great way to discover her culture.

I'm a native English speaker and I'm taking French for all four years of my high school career and plan to study it at university. I would love to learn more languages in the future. I think it's a great skill to have. I also grew up in a heavily Spanish speaking area and have been exposed to the language while I don't speak it.

Experience

I love working with kids. Working as an Au Pair is a wonderful opportunity that will help me develop new skills and give me experience for working in the future. I want to work in Social work and family sciences after college so Au Pairing is a good fit for that. I had a blast welcoming someone from a different culture into my home and learning about her and hope to have that same experience with my host family. It gives me a chance to meet new people and create lasting memories with them. I can't wait to build a strong connection with my host family and hope to stay in contact after my time is up.
I love kids and for as long as I can remember my biggest life goal has been to be a mother. I've babysat my siblings and for friends since I was 11 years old (6 years now) and I still help with my younger brother or younger kids from my church. This usually includes entertaining them and then putting them to bed while the parents are out. I helped teach 3-9 year olds dance for 5 years at two separate places. One was my local dance studio and one was a company run by a family friend where she taught kids to sing and dance. I've been a camp counselor for an all girls church camp for 2 years and hope to be able to do it again in the future! I have experience working with kids who have special needs as well as all different personalities.
