Letter to the family

To whom this may concern,

My name is Avril and I’m 18 years old living in the west of Ireland.

One of my aspirations in life is to travel ! I’ve completed my leaving cert this year my plan is to go to uni in Manchester and study podiatry. I love looking after people and love meeting new people and new experiences.

I’ve friends who can been an au pair in past years and have told me so many stories I just want to experience it for my self !

I’ve gone to boarding school for the past 3 years which has given me the chance to move away from home and become independent from my family. That experience has made me super easy people to get in with I think as I to compromise with the girls I love with to get on. I can also resolve situations and conflicts very effectively due to my time there.

I have been a vegetarian for the past year and I’d love to be vegan I also do not drink cows milk. I have a joy for cooking and baking, I cook almost all my own meals and I take pride in the healthy food I consume. I currently have sourdough bread in the oven !

I know I’d fit in perfectly with your family and I can’t wait to start :)

Experience

I have been babysitting my neighbours children for many years and have experience child minding a young child of 4 with ADHD. The range of children I have babysat is 2-13. While minding the children I also cleaned and cooked for the family while I was there.

I also have experience working in a nursing home with elderly patients. My job was to keep the patients company by being their companion and organising activities for them to do, for example colouring, making cards for Christmas and birthdays. During my time there I also spoon fed the patients and assisted the other cares with changing and cleaning the patients.
