Letter to the family

Hi! My name is Claire and I’m from the beautiful state of Utah in the United States. I grew up as the middle of four sisters in a lively household, which taught me early on the values of patience, kindness, and having fun! Being part of a big family also helped spark my natural love for caring for children.

Since I was 11 years old, I’ve had regular opportunities to babysit and nanny, especially in my family-oriented community. These experiences have helped my ability to connect with children of various ages, understand their needs, and support their growth in a nurturing and engaging way.

From a young age, I’ve also had a passion for travel and learning about different cultures and languages. That’s why becoming an au pair feels like a dream that brings all of my passions together. I was fortunate to work as an au pair in Spain for a month, and I absolutely fell in love with the experience. It confirmed to me how fulfilling it is to build bonds with families while immersing myself in another way of life.

I recently graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Communication and am currently taking a gap year before beginning a master’s program. During this time, I want to contribute meaningfully to a family abroad, learn more about the world, and continue growing both personally and professionally.

Thank you for considering me as a potential au pair. I’m looking forward to the chance to be part of your family and share in the adventure of everyday life together!

Experience

I’ve long known that I have a natural ability to connect with people, especially across different backgrounds! I also have a deep love for languages and cultures—learning how people live, speak, and relate to one another is something that excites and inspires me.

While I’ve always been passionate about language learning, opportunities to fully immerse myself and become fluent have been limited. That’s one of the reasons I’m drawn to being an au pair abroad. I believe that true fluency—both in language and culture—comes from living within a community, not just studying from a book. Being an au pair provides that unique chance to learn by living, to grow through daily experience, and to build meaningful relationships that transcend borders.

To me, being an au pair isn’t just a job—it’s an invaluable educational and character-building experience. Living with a host family, caring for children, and participating in everyday life abroad allows for a kind of cultural exchange that simply can’t be replicated in a classroom. It’s this rich, immersive environment that I’m eager to be part of.

I’m excited about the opportunity to share my energy, care, and curiosity with a family abroad, and I would be honored to contribute to your home while learning from your way of life!
