Letter to the family

Hi! My name’s Kimi and I am in my early 20’s. The people in my life would describe me as a very outgoing and adventurous person and if I do say so myself funny person to be around. I decided to look into being an au pair or caregiver for the elderly through this website because I think it would be a good experience and give me the opportunity to not only do something that I love but the chance to learn and experience new things such as culture, language and food. I would be a good choice for this position because my experience with being a nanny to multiple kids ranging from age 2 to 15, one having special needs, to also having CNA experience for the past 4 years working with elderly in a memory care unit taking care of people with Alzheimer’s/dementia. I love the outdoors and trying new activities, being pushed out of my comfort zone and learning about new things. I love meeting new people and being able to help people. The world is an amazing place, not without disadvantages in some situations, but that it is worth learning and exploring and being able to help people while being able to do those things is a great opportunity.

Experience

Although I don’t have experience being an Au Pair, I do have extensive experience as a nanny and caregiver for the elderly. I worked as a nanny from age 16 to around 20 taking care of kids ranging from just 1 child to as many as 4 at a time from the ages of 2 years old to 15 years old as well as one having special needs. I also have vast experience as a caregiver for elderly working in a nursing home in the memory care unit for the past 4 years. I would like to become an Au Pair/caregiver for elderly abroad because I want to push myself out of my comfort zone and experience new things. Meeting new people and building a bond/relationship with the families/residents I work for/take care of was one of the best parts of being a nanny and working in a nursing home, being able to do that in a place with new experiences is so exciting.
