Letter to the family

Good day!

I’m Jasmin, 26, a Filipino au pair in Denmark for almost 2 years now, I was also an au pair in The Netherlands for a year. I grew up in the Philippines.

I currently have a nice Danish host family, I'm looking for my next host family beginning of December or later.

I love playing with kids and looking after them. I love imparting wisdom to kids, hence, I used to be an English teacher for Japanese and Korean kids. I have wide experience with children, from infancy to early teenage years. I came from a family of 10, so growing up, I have often looked after my nephews, nieces, and younger sibling. In the Philippines, we would usually go swimming and biking around the neighbourhood. We also play chess, bake cookies, play board games, and even do school homework and projects together. I enjoy spending time with kids, so I became a teacher. And I humbly hope to continue this profession in the future.

During my stay in Netherlands, I've enjoyed looking after my 2 host kids. My responsibilities included getting them ready for school, preparing their breakfast and lunch boxes. I would take them to school and fetch them in the afternoon. I also take them to their playdates, swimming class, hockey, and tennis trainings. During the day, I unload the dishwasher, tidy-up the bedrooms and all areas in the house, do the laundry, ironing, and vacuuming. In the afternoon and evening, I would play with the kids and sometimes while preparing the dinner. After, I would clean up the dining area and kitchen and load up the dishwasher. Before sleeping, I have to throw all garbage. Then I put the kids to sleep.

In my current wonderful host family, my tasks include deep cleaning the whole house and tidying up every room in the morning. I occasionally deliver and fetch the kids at school and always give them healthy snacks upon arriving home. I have also been cooking healthy dinner every day which has taught me many nice dishes that I plan to continue making wherever I may go next. Before the day ends, I make sure the kitchen is well cleaned and bins are emptied. I also do the laundry, ironing, and changing of bedsheets.

Taking care of kids and keeping a house well-maintained have been natural traits for me. I'm quite knowledgeable with first aid and swimming, I have been attending scout camps and trainings when I was a student. I also like painting and drawing with kids, I used to take my host kids to many museums when I can.

As a person, I really value respect, learning, and kindness. I really hope to fully experience morenthe European culture and to have another fulfilling year/s as an au pair.

Thank you for reading my message.
I wish you and your family be in best of health! ?

Sincerely,
Jasmin
