Letter to the family

Dear host family

My name is Hestia and I’m a 23 year old from the beautiful South Africa. I am a loving and caring Christian who love spending time with children. I am the perfect candidate because I am independent, mature and responsible and know how to take care of myself and others. You can always feel at ease leaving your kids with me as I am a very trustworthy, caring and loving person. I’ve always been the type of person who wants to help everyone in need. I studied to become a teacher and worked as an Au Pair for a year during my studies. Before coming to the US I worked as a teacher’s assistant at a middle school. With all this experience and being with kids, I definitely qualify for the position.

I am already working as an Au Pair and I wanted to do it, because you learn a lot about child development by being with them everyday and experiencing so many things while helping them as well.

Experience

I worked as an Au Pair in South Africa for a year and had a few responsibilities. My duties included fetching them from school, taking them home and to extra mural activities, appointments, playdates and birthday parties. I made them lunch, cleaned their lunchboxes, packed their bags for the next day, do homework with them and then we would sometimes go do something fun, like go to the park, restaurant, petting zoo etc. There were also times I had to sleep over, so I would bath them and take them to bed.

I currently work as an Au Pair in the US and I am extending at the end of July, so I’m looking for a new family to extend with and explore a different town/state. My duties are a lot the same as back in South Africa.
