Letter to the family
Dear Future Host Family,
My name is Chloe, and I am a 20-year-old American. I am currently a senior at LIM College, where I am studying Fashion Media. I am writing to express my enthusiastic interest in becoming your au pair and joining your family.
I am drawn to the au pair program for several reasons. Firstly, I have a genuine love for children and find great joy in helping them learn and grow. I have significant experience caring for children, including my 13-year-old sister who has type 1 diabetes, which has taught me responsibility, patience, and the importance of attentive care. I also have experience caring for my cousins from a young age. I am eager to build a meaningful connection with your children and become a positive influence in their lives. Secondly, I am passionate about experiencing new cultures, and I am particularly excited about the prospect of living in either Italy, France, Ireland, or the UK. I am eager to immerse myself in the rich history, art, and traditions of your country, and I believe that living with your family would provide an invaluable opportunity to do so.
You should consider hosting me because I am a responsible, adaptable, and enthusiastic individual with a strong work ethic. I am committed to fulfilling the responsibilities of an au pair with dedication and care. My experience caring for my sister with type 1 diabetes has equipped me with the ability to handle important responsibilities, and I am also eager to become a part of your family, to share my own culture with you, and to contribute to a positive and supportive home environment. I am a proactive and organized person, and I am confident in my ability to manage my time effectively and handle any tasks that may arise.
I believe I am qualified for the au pair position due to a combination of my experience, skills, and personal qualities. My experience caring for my younger sister, including managing her type 1 diabetes, has given me a strong foundation in providing attentive and responsible care. I also have experience caring for my cousins from a young age. Additionally, my ten years in Girl Scouts has instilled in me valuable skills such as leadership, teamwork, and a commitment to helping others. My studies in Fashion Media have equipped me with skills in communication, creativity, and organization, which I believe are transferable to childcare. For example, my coursework has involved developing engaging content and communicating effectively with different audiences, skills that can be used in interacting with children in fun and educational ways. I am a patient and creative person. I enjoy doing activities with children, such as reading books, playing games, doing arts and crafts, and playing sports.
Thank you for considering my application. I am excited about the possibility of becoming a member of your family and contributing to a positive and enriching experience for everyone. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Sincerely,
Chloe
